THE BACK STORY

The Sovereign of the Deep has been awakened. He is an ancient evil that has been in a deep slumber in the darkest holes of the Caves of Wonder. For years his forces have attempted to awaken him, and gain hold of our school and I fear they may succeed.

While your group of trouble-making first-years were serving detention in the Forest of Regret, the Sovereign took hold of the school and placed all the instructors in a deep dream. He also has blanketed the entire land with an Amnesia spell that stops Wizards from remembering who they are and how to cast magic.

He aims to enter our halls and claim a most prized artifact: the last Dragon Egg. Our school draws great power from this Egg and has guarded it for eons. If the Sovereign were to obtain it, we will all face our doom. But his plan was not flawless. What he has failed to realize is that the Forest of Regret was partially protected from his hex. While you may not remember all of your teachings, with a bit of guidance you can still stop his evil plan.

You must make your way back into the school and find the last Dragon Egg before the Sovereign of the Deep enters the castle. If he obtains it, he will be immortal and no one, not even the schools greatest champions, would be able to stop him. You must move swiftly; time is ticking away.
